So, you wanna buy a Shipping Container!

9 Oct

While I was hard at work, sweating over a paper on Geothermal Ground Loop Technology, I took a break to go through my email, and lo and behold, I’m once again barraged with that age old question:

“Were you born an idiot?”

Wait, that’s not it… lemme try that again…

Oh yeah, I remember now…

“Where do you GET the ISBU’s, to begin with?”

Taking a Shipping container from an empty metal shell, to a functional, sustainable house, can be the experience of a lifetime. Trust me on this, I know what I’m talking about.

But, it’s a lot of hard work, and you’re gonna face some long odds, to get everything you need, just the way you want it.

For the families that really want to do the “Sweat Equity two-step”… an ISBU house is a wonderful thing.

Here’s something to inspire you!

But, some people just aren’t cut out for a long period of welding and grinding, and breathing in plasma cutter fumes!

If you’re really thinking hard about building a home out of these wonderful steel boxes, you need to get your hands on one or three, in the first place.

Or… if you’re one of those people who’d rather not enjoy the experience of sniffing heavy metal… or, if an ISBU house sounds cool, but you’re not really the DIY’r that you’d hoped you were…

There ARE lots of ways to get that solid steel satisfaction of life in a massive metal box!

Here’s one answer to your problems!

Let somebody else suck in all those fumes!

Conglobal Industries, Inc. says that they are the nation’s largest retailer of new, used, modified, and refurbished ISO shipping/cargo containers, ground storage containers, chassis, and specialty equipment.

Operating through it’s own nationwide network of container terminals, Conglobal Industries, Inc. provides all types of intermodal equipment to hundreds of large and small companies, thousands of individuals, and all branches of the armed services, as well as state and federal institutions.

They go on to say that their goal is to provide you with the equipment you want, where you want it, when you want it…

If you live near any of these cities, an ISBU may be in your future!

  • Seattle, WA.
  • Portland, OR.
  • Alameda (Oakland) CA.

  • Chicago, Il.
  • Memphis, TN.
  • Houston, TX.

Note: This is not the only game in town, buy any means. I don’t deal with these guys. In fact, I NEVER have. I’m not affiliated with these guys in ANY way. I’m just passing along information.

You can tell ’em that we referred you! In fact, please do!

They’ll probably laugh at you, and then charge you double!

Or, maybe they’ll send us a few bucks, for advertising their products!

Stay tuned!
